Ningbo Open kicks off with star-studded draw

The main draw for the 2025 Ningbo Open has been announced, setting the stage for exciting high-profile matchups as the tournament officially kicked off on Oct 13 at the Ningbo (Yinzhou) Tennis Center.
The draw ceremony, held on the rooftop helipad of the 201.75-meter-tall Yanxiang Center, brought together WTA tour supervisor Clare Wood, tournament co-director Laura Ceccarelli, players and sponsors for a stunning start to the week.
China's Guo Hanyu advanced through the qualifying rounds to earn her spot in the main draw, joining other names such as Ajla Tomljanovic, Yulia Putintseva and Daria Starodubtseva.
Among the main-draw highlights, China's Zhu Lin will face US Open champion Emma Raducanu in the first-round match, with the winner set to meet top seed and last year's finalist Mirra Andreeva. Meanwhile, Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova will meet Roland Garros finalist Karolina Muchova, and Sofia Kenin will take on fellow American McCartney Kessler.
In doubles, Hsieh Su-wei and Katerina Siniakova are the top seeds, while Zhang Shuai teams up with Vondrousova for their debut together.
