As the "Home of Southern Confucianism and a Model City of Virtue", Quzhou in Zhejiang province has infused the spirit of courtesy and civility into every corner of its ancient city.
In Kecheng district, where the Quzhou Ancient City Cultural Tourist Area is located, more than 700 themed activities and training sessions promoting civility and hospitality have been held, reaching over 450,000 participants.
The district has also issued an "Initiative on Courteous Hospitality", encouraging residents and service providers to embrace a shared culture of respect and warmth toward visitors.
Quzhou Ancient City serves as the hub of visitor services and a key showcase for the city's image. It integrates three core functions — public service, information coordination, and emergency command — and houses facilities including a visitor information desk, luggage storage, guide offices, financial services, a self-service tea lounge, a cultural and creative shop, and a convenience store.
Free amenities, including restrooms, barrier-free access, drinking water, mobile charging, and reading materials, are available to all visitors. Additionally, one-stop services are provided, covering ticketing, tour scheduling, complaint handling, and medical assistance.
In addition, 86 service stations have been established throughout the ancient city. Each station provides free essentials such as phone charging, drinking water, and rest areas. At the same time, some also offer unique services including intangible cultural heritage experiences, sewing assistance, and first-aid supplies.
