Ningbo's cross-border e-commerce strength took center stage at the opening of the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE), where the city's delegation sealed a $30 million deal with an Italian health brand.

The agreement, signed between Zhengzheng E-commerce Co — a leading importer based in the Ningbo Free Trade Zone — and Italy's deep-sea fish oil producer Omegor, marks Ningbo's first major achievement at this year's CIIE. The imported products will be distributed to Chinese consumers through the city's bonded warehouses and online platforms.

Lin Zihan, general manager of Zhengzheng E-commerce, stated that the company has maintained a long-term partnership with Omegor, which has seen steady growth over the years. He noted that this year's order is about 20 percent larger than last year's, reflecting strong consumer demand for health supplements.

Lin added that Omegor values Ningbo not only for Zhengzheng E-commerce's expertise but also for the city's efficient customs clearance, robust logistics network, and favorable business environment.

"Ningbo provides a seamless supply chain — from import declaration to doorstep delivery," he said.

As one of China's first hubs for cross-border retail imports, Ningbo continues to attract international brands looking to enter the Chinese market. About one in every four bonded cross-border e-commerce import orders nationwide is shipped from Ningbo, demonstrating the city's growing influence as a global trade gateway.
