The 2025 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit concluded in Tongxiang, a county-level city in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, on Nov 9, marking another milestone for the ancient water town that has hosted the event since 2014.

Tongxiang has become a hub for the digital economy. Local companies have deepened partnerships with universities to promote technological innovation, such as the joint eco-friendly materials lab built by Xin Feng Ming Group and Donghua University. As one of China's first demonstration zones for intelligent connected vehicles, Tongxiang now hosts more than 60 enterprises spanning key sectors of the industry chain. Since its launch in 2019, the Global Internet Competition of "Straight to Wuzhen" has attracted over 5,000 projects from more than 40 countries, nurturing several listed and unicorn companies.

Digital culture is thriving. In Jiaxing Economic and Technological Development Zone, Jiu Zhou Wen Hua produces short dramas for international audiences using AI-assisted translation and creation, distributing over 4,000 titles globally. Games, online literature, and web series are increasingly reaching global markets, while AI-powered heritage protection projects bring cultural treasures to life.

Digital innovations are also improving everyday living. Smart roads in Tongxiang have reduced vehicle waiting times by 15 percent, and intelligent elderly care systems ensure safer living environments. With the ongoing expansion of digital health, social governance, and education reforms, Jiaxing continues to leverage the advantages of the Wuzhen Summit for sustainable economic and social growth.
