Jinhua ranks 10th in China's top 100 cities for foreign trade competitiveness

Jinhua in Zhejiang province has ranked 10th in China for comprehensive foreign trade competitiveness, according to China's Top 100 Cities for Foreign Trade (2025), launched by the China Customs Press on Oct 29.

From January to October, Jinhua achieved an import-export value of 878.83 billion yuan ($123.75 billion), up 19.7 percent year-on-year, ranking second in scale and first in growth rate in Zhejiang. Exports reached 775.05 billion yuan, surpassing last year's annual total, with a 19.8 percent growth rate that led the province.

Jinhua's foreign trade is highly diversified, with trade relations established with 234 countries and regions, up 18.7 percent since 2001. It ranks second in Zhejiang for exports to Belt and Road countries.

Jinhua also leads in Africa trade, with exports totaling 118.15 billion yuan in 2024, maintaining its position as Zhejiang's top exporter to Africa for 12 consecutive years. Its African exports have accounted for more than 8 percent of the national total for nine straight years, ranking first among all prefecture-level cities.

Private enterprises dominate Jinhua's foreign trade, with 17,730 firms contributing 98.4 percent of the city's total foreign trade value. The city also boasts over 60,000 active cross-border e-commerce sellers, and 54,000 local businessmen spread across 131 countries and regions.

China's Top 100 Cities for Foreign Trade (2025) has calculated the foreign trade competitiveness of 338 cities across the country, whose combined foreign trade value accounts for 99.92 percent of China's total.
