A delegation led by Lyu Jian, East China chief representative of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, visited Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province from Nov 19 to 20 to explore new opportunities in trade, technology, and cross-regional collaboration, meeting with institutions and companies to gain updated insights into the city's innovation landscape.
The delegation highlighted Jiaxing's strong industrial base, expanding openness, and growing role within the Yangtze River Delta region. Hong Kong's advantages in finance, trade, and logistics align well with Jiaxing's manufacturing capabilities, creating space for joint development in technology, services, and international market expansion. The visit aimed to identify new cooperation models in cross-border trade, financial services, science and technology, and overseas market entry.
According to Lyu, Jiaxing's growth potential and innovation capacity are attracting increased attention from international platforms. The council expressed interest in helping Jiaxing enterprises reach global markets and in encouraging more Hong Kong resources to participate in the city's development. Both sides discussed opportunities to link Jiaxing's industrial clusters with Hong Kong's global network to support enterprise upgrading and cross-border business flows.
During the two-day trip, the delegation visited several key innovation platforms, including the Yangtze Delta Region Institute of Tsinghua University in Zhejiang and Jiu Zhou Wen Hua.
