Yiwu, a county-level city in Jinhua, has established trade links with over 230 countries and regions, and its robust infrastructure supports its global reach.

The Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe train service expanded its operations by 18.3 percent in the first three quarters, cementing its importance as a vital logistics hub for the Belt and Road Initiative. Additionally, over 280 overseas warehouses managed by Yiwu merchants enhance global market integration.

Yiwu's innovative market procurement trade model streamlines international shipments by enabling goods valued under $150,000 per order to be consolidated and cleared in under an hour. This model accounted for 458.38 billion yuan ($64.83 billion) in exports in the first three quarters, representing 82.7 percent of Yiwu's total.

Cultural appeal

Hengdian World Studios in Dongyang county-level city, hailed as "China's Hollywood", attracts many international visitors eager to explore Chinese culture.

Zhou Yujiexi from the International Development Department noted an increase in overseas tourists coming to find scenes from popular films. This interest is transforming Hengdian into an immersive cultural experience destination.

With favorable visa policies, Hengdian saw a tenfold rise in foreign visitors in 2024, amplifying its global allure.

Jinhua is not only about commerce; it fosters a diverse and inclusive community. Efficient reforms allow foreign businesses to be registered within one workday. The Foreign Citizen Card provides expats access to local services, while the vocational certificates for foreign talent offer new career opportunities.

In Yiwu's Jimingshan community, known as the "UN Community", language classes have removed communication barriers and the international mediation team has resolved over 330 disputes, demonstrating the internationalization of grassroots governance.
