Suichang county in Lishui, East China's Zhejiang province, signed a cooperative agreement with Aliyun, Alibaba's cloud computing subsidiary, for the establishment of a scientific and technological innovation island on July 23.
Hu Haifeng, Party secretary of Lishui, and Zhang Jianfeng, president of Aliyun, attended the signing ceremony and gave speeches.
Before the ceremony, the two sides discussed the development of a digital economy and ways to deepen cooperation.
Aliyun is a world-leading cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI) technology company. This time, Aliyun will give full play to its advantages in the new economy, new infrastructure, brands, technology and talent, and vigorously promote Suichang's construction as a digital village, a future scientific and technological innovation island, a digital government, and its industrial digital transformation.
"The digital economy is bound to become a powerful engine for building Lishui's high-level ecological society and high-quality green development," Hu said in his speech.
Hu also said that the scientific and technological innovation island project, which is centered on Xianxia Lake in Suichang, will bring various types of innovation spaces, scientific and technological innovation entities, and industrial innovation service complexes to the county, as well as enormous opportunities to Lishui.
According to Zhang, based on the ability and construction experience in AI, blockchains, the internet of things and mobile collaborative offices, Aliyun will make Suichang the benchmark of new smart cities in Zhejiang.
