Founded in 2000, Jiyang College of Zhejiang A&F University is a full-time undergraduate independent college, which moved from Lin'an to Zhuji in September 2013.
Located in the education park in northern Zhuji, Jiyang College covers about 36 hectares. With an investment of 1.3 billion yuan ($187.5 million), the gross floor area reaches 267,000 square meters. With a construction area of 38,000 sq m and including a basketball hall, swimming pool and tennis hall, Jiyang Sports Center can hold international sporting events.
The library can capacity to hold 1.5 million paper books and currently has 688,000. The laboratory building has a floor area of 19,000 sq m and the value of the existing teaching equipment totals 69.71 million yuan ($10.04 million).
The college's experimental computer teaching center is a provincial experimental teaching demonstration center. Each room in the student dormitory can accommodate four students, and is equipped with an independent bathroom, a solar water heater, an air conditioner and network broadband, providing excellent living conditions.
Jiyang College has 716 faculty members, including 368 full-time teachers. Among the full-time teachers, 104 have doctoral degree, accounting for 28.26 percent of the total, 161 have associate senior titles and above, accounting for 43.75 percent.
According to the development needs of society and the economy, Jiyang College has set up 32 undergraduate programs, covering eight disciplines: economics, law, literature, science, engineering, agriculture, management and art. Enrolling students from 13 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions around China, the college has 6,806 full-time undergraduates and 479 mature students.
It has two Zhejiang first-class disciplines – agricultural engineering and landscape architecture – a provincial key program – business administration – and two provincial characteristic programs during the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020) – landscape architecture and accounting.
Promoting international education, Jiyang College has carried out exchange projects with more than 20 universities and institutions from eight countries and regions, expanding methods of international student cultivation.
