ezhejiang.gov.cn| Updated: December 24, 2020 L M S

A new version of the English news website for East China's Zhejiang province went online on Dec 23.

Since its inception in August 2016, the previous version of the website has been providing up-to-date news related to Zhejiang, covering a wide range of topics including politics, economy, culture, and tourism. The website has so far garnered more than five million visits from around the world.

Zhejiang is an economic powerhouse and a pioneer in China's reform and opening-up. In recent years, due to its rapidly-developing economy, it has received significant attention internationally through several high-level global events such as the G20 Hangzhou Summit and the World Internet Conference.

To create an even better user experience and expand readership across the globe, the editor team has made a number of modifications and upgrades to the website's webpage design and column setup.

The new version of the website places more emphasis on the latest news stories, particularly those related to international exchange activities. It also provides more background information on Zhejiang in a more accessible manner, making it easier for foreign readers who are interested in learning about the province’s history, culture, tourism, industries, business, education, transportation and expat services.

Moreover, the new version of the website has added special links to sub-web pages for all 11 cities in Zhejiang, where more specific information and events can be found.

To take advantage of the increasing popularity of mobile reading, the new website offers a mobile version as well.

The website is backed by China Daily and the Publicity Department of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee. China Daily, established in 1981 as the national English-language newspaper, has developed into a multi-media information platform combining newspapers, websites and apps with a strong presence on social media platforms. It is the go-to source for people seeking English-language information about China.
