Anchang ancient town, a typical traditional water town in the Yangtze River Delta region in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province, has created a more convenient environment for tourists and residents with the application of digital technologies.

Since last year when the ancient town was approved as a provincial 5A-level scenic spot, Anchang has prioritized smart management of tourism and in helping improve the daily lives of local residents.

The local government has applied advanced technologies, such as facial recognition and big data, to facilitate the process of booking tickets, checking in to hotels, parking cars, and touring the town for tourists, which has helped accelerate the digital transformation of the scenic spot.

In addition, the management committee of the town is able to track and monitor the flow of vehicles and tourists through a big data platform, enabling it to provide better services for people coming to enjoy the charm of the ancient town.

At the same time, these technologies have been used in the security and protection of residential areas in the town. With more than 1,000 monitoring cameras installed, the safety of residents is better guaranteed.
