Shaoxing Metro Line 1 began trial runs on June 28, making Shaoxing the third city in Zhejiang province to own metro lines.

Spanning over 20.3 kilometers, Shaoxing Metro Line 1 has 10 stations. The trains run every nine minutes from China Textile City Station in Keqiao district, Shaoxing to Guniangqiao Station in Xiaoshan district in Hangzhou with a maximum speed of 100 km per hour.

"I always dream of going to work on subway," said a Xiaoshan native surnamed Shao. "Shaoxing Metro Line 1 cuts the travel time to less than 30 minutes."
