China Textile City achieves turnover of $47.88b in 2021

The China Textile City in Shaoxing, East China's Zhejiang province, achieved a turnover of 304 billion yuan ($47.88 billion) in 2021, said officials from the administration committee of the China Textile City.

Online trade amounted to 70.17 billion yuan, up 15.59 percent year-on-year. In the same period, the textile city registered 5,084 new market entities, including 2,099 companies and 2,985 self-employed sellers.

Over the past year, Keqiao has hosted a series of activities and events related to textile and fashion industry, including the fourth World Textile Merchandising Conference, the 10th Keqiao Fashion Week and the 23rd Keqiao Textile Expo (Autumn).

Last year, Keqiao authorities organized tours for 500 companies to visit other Chinese cities such as Shenzhen, Qingdao and Changshu where there are competitive textile industries.

Keqiao also launched several programs to promote its fashion design industry. Last year, the Keqiao Textile Industry Innovation Design Base received 351 million yuan ($55.25 million) in fashion design revenue, a year-on-year increase of 8.4 percent.
