Shaoxing foreign trade up 32.3% in first two months of 2022

The imports and exports of Shaoxing in East China's Zhejiang province in the first two months of this year stood at 52.46 billion yuan ($8.25 billion), rising 32.3 percent year-on-year, according to the statistics released by the Shaoxing Customs on March 21.

The city's exports over the period reached 48.73 billion yuan, up 35.9 percent year-on-year, and the imports amounted to 3.73 billion yuan, down 2.2 percent year-on-year.

In January, the total imports and exports of the city was 34.84 billion yuan, up 51.3 percent year-on-year and hitting a new high in the city's foreign trade volume in a single month.

The exports in this month reached 32.76 billion yuan, with the year-on-year growth rate resting at 54.5 percent, the highest among cities in Zhejiang.

As the world's largest free trade pact, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership started to take effect on Jan 1. In the first two months, Shaoxing's imports and exports with member countries of RCEP reached 11.21 billion yuan, up 36.1 percent year-on-year.
