Shaoxing in East China's Zhejiang province plans to upgrade 105 public toilets in 2022, according to a recent notice issued by the local authorities.

The interiors of the upgraded toilets will be equipped with motion-sensor faucets, toilet paper dispensers, and a smart mirror that can display the weather conditions. Users will also enjoy free internet access, hot water, and mobile phone charging services.

People can view the real-time usage status of the toilet cubicles on the screen installed outside the toilet. Signs will also be set up nearby to help residents locate these toilets quickly.

Portable toilets will also be added in downtown area and scenic spots.
