Shaoxing sees GDP rise 3.2% in H1

Shaoxing in East China's Zhejiang province saw its gross domestic product grow 3.2 percent year-on-year in the first half of 2022, hitting 336 billion yuan ($49.86 billion), according to local statistics authorities.

The added value of the city's primary, secondary and tertiary industries respectively totaled 9.8 billion yuan, 163.5 billion yuan, and nearly 162.7 billion yuan in the first six months, up by 5.3 percent, 3.2 percent, and 1.4 percent.

Shaoxing also saw robust foreign trade growth during the period.

The city's total import and export value hit 1.69 trillion yuan ($250.74 billion) from January to June, up 28.6 percent year-on-year. Its exports rose 30.1 percent to 1.56 trillion yuan , and its imports increased 14.1 percent to 136 billion yuan.
