The online and offline turnover of the China Textile City based in Shaoxing, East China's Zhejiang province, during the first nine months of this year exceeded 200 billion yuan ($27 billion), a year-on-year increase of 10.72 percent, according to data recently released by the management committee of the China Textile City.

China Textile City is one of the nation's designated areas for the pilot of the market procurement trade mode, which refers to the purchasing of commodities in the recognized market agglomeration area.

The market procurement trade mode exempts companies from value added tax, simplifies customs clearance procedures and introduces a new way of settlement exchange, thus providing benefits to companies, especially small and medium-sized ones.

The high profits of the textile city would not have been possible without the city's efforts to expand its presence in the international market. To do so, the city has held several online matchmaking conferences targeting potential buyers from Central Asian countries and Morocco.
