Shangyu Museum opens to public

The Shangyu Museum in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province, opened to the public on Nov 22.
The 20,000-square-meter museum has six exhibition halls, including the Shangyu History and Culture Hall, Yue Kiln Celadon Hall, Tianxianglou Inscription Hall, Shangyu Architecture Hall, and two halls for temporal exhibitions.
The museum has 19,839 relics, including 17 national first-class items, 61 national second-class items, and 220 national third-class items. The exhibits include ceramics, stone tools, bronze mirrors, bronze ware, jade, calligraphy and paintings, and coins.
Xu Guolian, curator of the Shangyu Museum, said that the museum is planning to attract young people by developing coffee and milkshake products related to celadon culture.
According to Xu, the museum's daily reception capacity is tentatively set at 500 people for COVID-prevention purposes.
