Sock and face mask firms in Zhuji, a county-level city under the administration of Shaoxing in East China's Zhejiang province, have been busy operating at full speed to meet soaring demand since the beginning of this year.
In the workshop of Jianlan Socks Co Ltd, nearly 400 intelligent machines are working around the clock.
According to the company's executives, exports to Northern Europe cannot be completed until September.

They said that the company's output this year is expected to reach 120 million yuan ($17.71 million) to 150 million yuan.
Last year, the company completed its digitalization initiative for every part of production.
Another foreign trade firm that has been facing such conditions is Zhuji Hongyue Biotechnology Company. Face masks produced by its newly-developed assembly lines have seen soaring demand.
Pang Haiping, general manager of the firm, said that the firm sells about 200,000 to 300,000 face masks per day. The firm's monthly sales are expected to reach 3 to 4 million yuan.
