The Guixing Rescue Team from Zhuji, a county-level city under the administration of Shaoxing, East China’s Zhejiang province, flew to Turkiye on Feb 10 to assist in rescue efforts after two massive earthquakes jolted the country on Feb 6.
The rescuers set off from Hangzhou International Airport and arrived in Turkiye after several flight transfers.

The team has 11 members, many of whom had contributed to rescue efforts when Wenchuan county, Southwest China’s Sichuan province, was hit by an earthquake in 2008.
Before this rescue mission, China’s well-known Bluesky Rescue Team had arrived in Turkiye’s worst-hit area. Two members from that team hail from Shaoxing.
