The 10th Sports Meet of Shaoxing kicked off in Shengzhou, a county-level city of Shaoxing, on May 11.

Held once every four years, the city sports meet is the most prestigious and largest multi-sport event in Shaoxing.

This year, fitness programs popular among the masses, particularly among youth, were included in the competition. For the first time, e-sports have been included as a public competition.

The tournament is divided into two categories: the youth division and the public division. The youth division includes 29 major events and 900 minor events such as track and field, swimming, basketball, and volleyball, and will produce 1,188 gold medals.

The public division includes 17 major events and 55 minor events such as swimming, 3x3 basketball, men's 5x5 soccer, and Chinese chess, and will produce 69 gold medals.

The competitions will run from May to October. The shooting competition will be held at the Shaoxing Olympic Sports Center while all other competitions will be held in Shengzhou.
