Boya Apparel Co workshop in Shaoxing has been producing attire for the award ceremonies and flag bearers of Asian Games Hangzhou, local media reported on June 6.
Established in 2005, Boya Apparel specializes in the design, customization, and production of garments for renowned international brands.
Recognizing the trend of the garment manufacturing industry shifting to Southeast Asia, the company's president Li Yajian embarked on a transformation in 2013, leveraging digital technology to establish a platform for large-scale personalized clothing customization.
"Over the past two years, we have refined our systems based on customer feedback, enabling us to cater to diverse individual preferences, body types, and styles through innovative and distinctive designs," said Li.
The cutting-edge system utilizes height, weight, and a set of three-dimensional front, side, and back images to automatically generate precise measurements for tailored suits. By offering a broad range of fabric choices and style options, the system produces perfectly-fitted suits.
The system is able to create over 1,000 sets of attire for Asian Games award ceremonies, complete with matching footwear, as well as design and produce flag bearer uniforms, including coordinated ties and shoes.
Li emphasized that the design process for the Asian Games-related attire began with a digital blueprint, skillfully incorporating dynamic 3D effects such as undulating water ripples and iconic elements inspired by the renowned West Lake.
The company employs state-of-the-art laser projection technology to facilitate precise cutting, while certain intricate procedures necessitate the expert touch of skilled artisans who add hand-drawn embellishments to the completed garments.
