Lu You, a famous poet in the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279), remains an important element of Shaoxing's Song Dynasty culture.

Lu penned more than 9,300 poems, making him a literary legend. However, what truly captivates readers when delving into the verses of Lu is not just the beauty of the imagery but the fervent patriotism that resonates within his lines.

To honor his legacy, Shaoxing has been developing the "Land of Lu You" intellectual property. To this end, the city has established various cultural and tourism landmarks, each dedicated to commemorating Lu and promoting the essence of Song culture.

Among these iconic landmarks are the Lu You Academy, the Lu You Cultural Center (Song Dynasty Culture Library), the Village Reception Hall of Lu You's countryside world, and the picturesque Song Dyansty Street.

In the historical village of Batoushan in Yuecheng district, numerous remnants of the Song Dynasty still stand, including ancient wells and the ancestral temple of the Lu family. In recent years, the district has made concerted efforts to enrich the city's cultural tapestry and attract visitors.
