Tongxin Restaurant reopens with grandeur

The renowned Tongxin Restaurant, a household name in Shaoxing, opened anew on Aug 18.
Its refurbished interior exudes a timeless charm. Every detail, from the tables and chairs to the utensils and steamers, has been revitalized. The menu has undergone an "upgrade," embracing new additions such as savory rice toppings, noodles, and traditional Shaoxing delicacies.
As the aroma of delectable dishes wafts through the air, patrons eager for in-house dining form queues that cascade from the upper floors to the ground.
Meanwhile, at the first-floor takeout counter, the line for pan-fried buns stretches for over 10 meters.
Frequent customer Chen Yu shared her experience, noting that in recent years, the first-floor dining area at Tongxin Restaurant had only around 10 tables, often leaving diners without a seat during peak hours.
The practice of sharing tables was commonplace. She remarked, "As an esteemed establishment with a reputation, it's high time for an elevation."
The upgrade of Tongxin Restaurant's allure has caught the attention of Song Jincai, president of the Shaoxing Household Brand Association. He views this elevation as a splendid example of the resurgence of heritage, asserting that Tongxin Restaurant's flourishing business will be further amplified with the expansion of its premises.
