Xinchang county in Shaoxing inked a strategic cooperation agreement with the Lin Dan team on September 11, marking the formal establishment of the "Lin Dan Cup" badminton tournament.

The badminton open is meant to serve as a high-level and equitable platform for badminton enthusiasts and allow aspiring players to swiftly evolve and pursue their dreams.

The tournament includes youth, men's singles, and mixed team events. The introduction of the youth category is intended to encourage budding badminton talent to hone their skills through competitive experiences.

Meanwhile, the men's singles and mixed team events are designed to attract elite players from both domestic and international backgrounds.

Registration for this year's competition will be open from Oct 1 to Nov 1.
