The All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce recently unveiled the "2023 Top 500 Private Enterprises in China" list, with 12 Shaoxing-based enterprises securing places on the roster.

This year, 12 Shaoxing companies made the list, the same as the previous year. Since 2019, the number of Shaoxing-based companies on the list has steadily increased, with figures of 11, 10, 11, and 12 in the preceding years.

Zhejiang Hailiang Co, with annual revenue of 207.37 billion yuan ($28.37 billion), made 32nd on the national list and stands as the only Shaoxing-based private enterprise with annual revenue exceeding 200 billion yuan.

Having made the list of the Fortune Global 500 for the past four years and the China Top 500 Private Enterprises for the past two decades, Zhejiang Hailiang Co boasts a diverse portfolio encompassing advanced materials manufacturing, educational endeavors, and sustainable agriculture – three pivotal sectors in its operations.

The group boasts a history of 33 years in copper processing, making it the leading enterprise in the nation in terms of copper tube and copper rod production and sales.

Hailiang Education, with 28 years of experience in foundational education and 21 years in international education, ranks as one of the most widespread and influential private educational conglomerates in China.
