Yangshan climbing center presents calligraphy artwork to IFSC president

Marco Scolaris, president of the International Federation of Sport Climbing, visited the Yangshan Climbing Center in Keqiao, Shaoxing, on Oct 6, to observe the competition and present awards to the winning athletes.
Marco received a calligraphy artwork titled Endless Climbing as a gift from the venue. This masterpiece was crafted by Wu Lianda, an avid calligraphy enthusiast who is nearing 90 years of age. His son is a staff member at the venue and has been dedicated to ensuring the success of the Asian Games for over six months.
Marco expressed his intention to hang the artwork in his office as a symbol of the cherished relationship between the IFSC and the Yangshan Climbing Center.
Marco also commended the achievements of the Chinese climbing team. He noted the remarkable growth in the sport of climbing in China over the past few years, with both Chinese athletes and climbing facilities seeing continuous expansion.
Furthermore, Marco praised the Yangshan Climbing Center for seamlessly blending natural landscapes with sporting facilities, creating a suitable environment for the sport.
Marco emphasized the importance of utilizing Asian Games venues for training purposes.
