The 2023 Xinchang "Tianmu Mountain" Lin Dan Cup Badminton Open is about to start in Xinchang county, Shaoxing, Zhejiang province.

This international badminton event has attracted a number of the world’s top players. The Olympic champion, Lin Dan, after whom the open is named, will attend the event.

On Nov 15, in the gymnasium in Xinchang, workers have been busy preparing for the competition.

Ding Xinglong, deputy general manager of Xinchang County Public Service Group, said that preparations were almost ready and that they were setting up the final stage.

The competition includes three groups: men's singles group, mixed team group and teenager group. Nearly 600 athletes from 14 countries, including China and Malaysia, will participate.

Xiao Shuailong, the person in charge of brand promotion at Danhui Sports, a company involved in sporting events and training, said that the competition has the strong backing of the Chinese Badminton Association.

Xiao added that they invited the professional rebroadcasting team of the Asian Games to live broadcast the event.

Badminton has a broad mass base in Xinchang. It is home to over 500 badminton players and more than 10,000 square meters of sports venues.
