Shaoxing in East China's Zhejiang province recently introduced a tailored "Tairong Card" for residents from Taiwan province, aiming to enhance the convenience of their daily travel.
The initial batch of Tairong Cards, numbering close to a hundred, offers a range of functionalities in the public transportation sector, covering services such as buses, subways, public bicycles, and intercity trains.
Additionally, the card comes with built-in discounts, providing users with a 10 percent discount on subway rides and a 20 percent discount on bus fares.
A Taiwan native surnamed Zhang has been doing business in Shaoxing's Yuecheng district for six years. Eager to experience the convenience, he swiftly entered the subway station, swiped the card at the automated ticket gate, and with a reassuring "beep," he smoothly entered the station.
He elaborated that in the past, commuting by subway required queuing at the ticket counter, especially during holidays, which often resulted in wasted time. "Now not only does it save time, but I also get to enjoy travel discounts," Zhang added
