The winter sun streamed through the glass of the sunroom at the Sausage Workshop in Anhua village, Anchang subdistrict, Shaoxing on Dec 14.
The sunlight bathed the first batch of 1,200 kilograms of sausages that had just been air-dried.
This year, the village invested in the construction of two large aluminum alloy three-dimensional sunrooms, each spanning over 100 square meters.
This investment marks a significant departure from the traditional practice of relying on weather conditions for the production of sausages in Anchang. The new sunrooms effectively stabilize the production capacity and output of sausages, sauce ducks, dried fish, and other cured products.
Furthermore, they provide a seasonal employment environment for residents in the surrounding villages, fostering a sense of shared prosperity in the community.
According to Shou Xinchan, Party chief of Anhua village, the workshop is expected to generate a stable annual output value of about 20 million yuan ($2.82 million).
