Yueju Opera film "Wen Empress of Han" released simultaneously in 128 cinemas across Zhejiang province on Dec 18.

The film narrates the story of a wise empress during the Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 24), known for her impartiality and commitment to justice.

Shortly after Wen Emperor of Han ascends the throne, he appoints Dou Ji as the empress and reunites with his long-lost younger brother, Dou Guangping.

However, Dou Guangping later commits a serious crime through deceit, leading to a dilemma for Wen Emperor regarding law enforcement and favoritism. Despite the hesitation, Empress Dou understands the importance of justice and supports Wen Emperor's commitment to strict law enforcement.

Director Qian Yong expressed his hope that the film would help more people understand Yueju Opera and experience the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture.

Following its premiere, the film is set to be gradually released in different regions. The initial response has been overwhelmingly positive, with nearly every screening sold out.
