Fudan University and Yuecheng district in Shaoxing jointly signed a cooperation agreement on the Shaoxing Chip Laboratory platform and a memorandum of cooperation on Dec 19.

Yuecheng district has, in recent years, attracted nearly a hundred integrated circuit and related large-scale enterprises. It has formed a complete industry chain with a focus on specialty processes and advanced packaging, reaching a total output value of over 50 billion yuan ($7.04 billion).

According to the agreement, Fudan University will send renowned experts and top interdisciplinary teams in the field of integrated circuits to the laboratory.

The Shaoxing Chip Laboratory currently covers an area of about 10,000 square meters, with plans for its core facility to expand to 320,000 square meters in the future, with an investment of around 3 billion yuan.
