The Shaoxing Baseball and Softball Sports Culture Center and the Shaoxing Keqiao Yangshan Sport Climbing Center have recently clinched the highest honors in the Architecture Master Prize 2023, known as the "Best of Best."

The Shaoxing Baseball and Softball Sports Culture Center resembles a floating giant cloud, with each unit slightly rising in the middle, creating a ripple effect reminiscent of wind blowing across the water when viewed from a distance.

The Yangshan Climbing Center takes the form of a partially hollowed cocoon, intricately standing out amidst the surrounding mountain and water landscapes.

The Architecture Master Prize is a prestigious global architectural award that evaluates designs in three categories: architecture, interior, and landscape design. It seeks to recognize the most creative and innovative designs worldwide, contributing to the appreciation of high-quality architectural designs worldwide.

According to official data, among thousands of entries from 81 countries this year, 84 projects were awarded Best of Best, with 33 projects hailing from China.

The design team and representatives from Zhejiang University's Architectural Design Research Institute explained that the Shaoxing Baseball and Softball Sports Culture Center, known as the "Wing of the Cloud," is not only the largest and highest-specification baseball (softball) venue in China but also a top-tier facility for the Hangzhou Asian Games baseball (softball) events.

The spokesperson for the Kecheng District Convention and Exhibition Center stated that they aim to integrate the usage of the Yangshan Climbing Center venue more closely with the lives and consumption patterns of the surrounding residents.

Their goal is to create an international, world-class, and fashionable outdoor sports center that combines top-notch competitions, training experiences, scientific research and learning, and leisure tourism, making sports an integral part of the city's culture.
