Shengzhou introduces policies to boost 'snack economy'
Snacks in Shengzhou county-level city, Shaoxing, are not only a key industry for increasing local income but also a proud city emblem.
Shengzhou has released the "2024 Revised Edition of Policies to Support Snack Industry Development and Promote Prosperity in Shengzhou," focusing on five main areas: factory building, store opening, marketing, training, and promotion.
The policy outlines 12 specific measures including investment in equipment, standardizing operations, participating in exhibitions, and industry training.
The policy provides subsidies for snack businesses that organize training for their employees in modern business management, such as e-commerce, corporate management, and market marketing.
As of the end of 2023, there are 28,000 Shengzhou snack shops outside the city, employing 73,000 people, with an output value exceeding 11 billion yuan ($1.54 billion). Within Shengzhou, there are 60 certified snack enterprises, 123 workshop enterprises, and nearly 10,000 employees.
