Shaoxing in Zhejiang province recently announced the signing of four new projects, including the "Cardiac Electrophysiology Innovation Center", Tide News reported on Aug 20.

These projects encompass both newly introduced industrial initiatives and collaborations between industry and academia, along with technical advisory services. They are expected to strengthen and expand the biopharmaceutical supply chain in Shaoxing.

Shaoxing's biopharmaceutical industry, which has seen rapid growth, now features a robust ecosystem centered on chemical APIs and pharmaceutical formulations, with a strong focus on biopharmaceuticals and innovative drug research. The sector also includes medical devices and traditional Chinese medicine.

In 2023, Shaoxing's biopharmaceutical industry generated nearly 40 billion yuan ($5.65 billion) in output, with 10 publicly listed companies. The high-end biopharmaceutical platform in Shaoxing Binhai New Area has already attracted over 200 companies.
