Recently, expats from Japan, Canada, Ireland, and other countries visited Shangyu district in Shaoxing to experience the intangible cultural heritage project of Hangzhou Embroidery. They also learned about blue dyeing and felt the charm of traditional Chinese folk crafts.

Hangzhou Embroidery is one of China's outstanding traditional crafts, reaching its peak during the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279).

Jin Feifei, a master of arts and crafts in Shaoxing and an inheritor of Hangzhou Embroidery techniques, has spent over a decade using needles as brushes and threads as ink.

According to Jin, completing an embroidery piece involves several steps: selecting a draft, framing, tracing, matching threads, embroidering, and mounting.

For example, in the draft selection process, the conventional method is to choose models from traditional Chinese paintings and calligraphy. A more contemporary approach involves creating original designs that incorporate modern art elements.
