A group of 37 visitors from 19 countries recently visited Shengzhou, the birthplace of Yueju Opera, in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province.

The visitors toured Chongren, a 1,700-year-old town, exploring historical streets, ancestral halls, and an ancient opera stage. The town's rich history and architecture left a lasting impression on them.

They explored Yueju Opera Town, where they watched performers bring classic scenes to life. Captivated by the intricate movements and melodies, many said it was their first close encounter with Chinese opera.

At the Yueju Opera Museum, they learned about costumes, props, and performance techniques and even tried their hand at Yueju singing and movements, donning costumes for a hands-on experience.
