A group of international students from Shaoxing Vocational and Technical College, under the guidance of Professor Liu Guowei, recently visited Meizhu village in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province.

Meizhu village, a well-preserved enclave of Chinese heritage, provided the students with ancient architecture and traditional crafts.

The students participated in workshops on bamboo weaving, brick carving, and paper cutting. In the bamboo weaving session, they learned to craft everyday items and decorative pieces from bamboo.

During the brick carving workshop, the students used chisels to carve images of the Monkey King from Journey to the West, gaining insight into the precision and dedication required for this traditional art form.

The paper cutting session, led by 80-year-old artisan Wang Juxiang, encouraged the students to create intricate designs under her expert guidance.
