As Chinese New Year approaches, Shaoxing in East China's Zhejiang province invites visitors to celebrate the festival in the local style.

The streets of Keqiao district come alive with the aroma of freshly made glutinous rice cakes, adding a festive charm to the wintry countryside.

In a bustling workshop, Wang Jiade, a local rice cake maker, quickly presses freshly made rice flour into the machine to produce perfectly shaped rice cakes.

Using premium rice and natural mountain spring water, his cakes have become a favorite among city dwellers, many of whom drive long distances to savor its authentic taste.
