To mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Spain, a music flash mob featuring the Shaoxing-based cultural brand "D Major" captivated passersby in central Barcelona on March 6.

The event aimed to deepen cross-cultural dialogue and promote creative synergy between Mediterranean art and traditional Chinese culture.

The performance was held at the España and Catalunya metro stations. Artists in traditional Chinese mamianqun, or horse-face skirts, brought Eastern aesthetics to Spain through a powerful music form.

The ensemble featured a pianist, a guzheng player, and a Spanish violinist, who performed iconic Chinese compositions. The fusion of different instruments presented Chinese music in a form accessible to international audiences.

The flash mob was more than entertainment; it served as a vibrant dialogue between East and West. Looking ahead, "D Major" plans to continue its cultural journey on the global stage, showing the innovative vitality of Chinese traditions and the power of the arts to foster global understanding.
