Shaoxing in East China's Zhejiang province has launched its first robot industrialization project, marking a key step toward intelligent manufacturing.

The event took place at the Hangzhou Bay Embodied Intelligence Innovation Center in Shangyu district recently.

Zhiding Robotics, a subsidiary of Shanghai AgiBot Innovation Technology, signed an agreement to establish a manufacturing base in the Cao'e River Economic Development Zone in Shangyu. The total investment for the project is 1.05 billion yuan ($145.09 million).

The project will focus on producing a variety of robots, including medium-sized cleaning robots, facade robots, and composite robots. Production is scheduled to begin in June, with over 2,000 robots expected to be produced by the end of the year. The project aims to generate annual sales revenue of 950 million yuan.

Zhiding Robotics, leveraging its parent company's expertise in embodied intelligence, aims to provide user-friendly, efficient, and automated products. The flagship product, the AgiBot C5, a commercial cleaning robot, has already gained recognition and bulk orders from global enterprises.

The project is a major milestone for Cao'e River Economic Development Zone, positioning it as a key hub for intelligent manufacturing.

To support this, the zone is implementing a breakthrough plan, which includes setting up an innovation center and investment fund to accelerate research and development and technology commercialization.

This initiative is expected to drive Shaoxing's growth in advanced technologies and contribute to the region's economic development.
