A group of German exchange students from Zhejiang Chunhui Senior High School recently spent the day immersed in Chinese heritage, experiencing the ancient art of celadon and the traditions of spring tea picking in Shaoxing's Xiaguan town.

The visit, part of a broader cultural exchange program, took place at the Yushanyin scenic area, which is known for its link to local craftsmanship. Students were welcomed by Gu Shaobo, a provincial arts and crafts master and inheritor of Yue kiln celadon — one of China's oldest ceramic traditions, dating back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907).

Gu gave a hands-on demonstration of celadon-making techniques, explaining the glaze formulas and kiln methods that distinguish Yue ware. Students then tried their hand at tea picking, guided through the process of selecting and harvesting tender leaves in a nearby plantation.

Zhejiang Chunhui Senior High School, based in Shaoxing, regularly organizes cultural activities for its international students, aiming to foster understanding and long-term friendship between China and other countries.
