Cross-border e-commerce in the Shaoxing Comprehensive Bonded Zone has reached a new peak, reflecting the city's growing emphasis on the sector as a strategic industry.
According to Shaoxing Customs, the bonded zone processed more than 3.7 million cross-border e-commerce orders in the first quarter of 2024, averaging over 40,000 parcels per day. The surge marks a historical high for the zone, driven by supportive policies, service innovation, and digital transformation.
Currently, 11 companies in the zone are engaged in cross-border e-commerce operations. To support their growth, Shaoxing Customs has introduced a series of reforms aimed at streamlining processes and enhancing services.
These include the implementation of a "bonded warehouse plus livestreaming" model, real-time response mechanisms, and round-the-clock reservation services to ensure swift and efficient customs clearance.
In 2024, the bonded zone's total import and export value soared to 25.02 billion yuan ($3.46 billion), up 46.2 percent year-on-year. Imports grew by 12.4 percent to 16.32 billion yuan, while exports surged by 236 percent to 8.7 billion yuan — both setting new records.
These gains have propelled the Shaoxing Comprehensive Bonded Zone to 60th place among all bonded zones in China and 6th in Zhejiang province.
