To ensure worry-free trips for new energy vehicle owners during the recent Dragon Boat Festival holiday, staff members from State Grid Shaoxing Power Supply Company conducted inspections on charging piles at the Jingling Service Area of the S9 Sutai Expressway in Xinchang, Shaoxing, Zhejiang province, on May 31.

Last year, Zhejiang province ranked second nationwide in the number of new energy vehicles, accounting for over 10 percent of the national total. Self-driving tours with electric cars within the province have become a popular choice for a growing number of people. Shaoxing, as a key cultural and tourist city in Zhejiang province, boasts rich natural and cultural resources. Tourist attractions of all sizes were bustling during the recent holiday. Taking Xinchang county as an example, during the May Day holiday, Xinchang received a total of 356,000 visitors, including 167,400 overnight guests, marking a year-on-year growth of 10.82 percent.

Many visitors choose electric cars for travel. Jia Yong, starting from Hangzhou and checking in at the Yunlan Homestay in Xiayanbei village at the Shijiufeng Scenic Area, said: "The transportation between Hangzhou, Shaoxing and Taizhou is very convenient. Now, both service areas and tourist attractions have charging stations. Even during holidays, we can use mobile apps to find nearby available charging piles and arrange charging reasonably."

In Xinchang, State Grid's self-invested charging piles include a total of 73 charging stations, 442 charging piles and 545 charging guns. The charging pile service network covers all tourist attractions.

Fang Tianmin, the manager of Yunlan Homestay, said: "Rooms for the Dragon Boat Festival holiday were fully booked a week ago. Currently, whether there are charging piles available is a criterion for many customers to choose accommodation. With the addition of parking lot charging piles, the demand for guest rooms has increased."

In recent years, State Grid Shaoxing Power Supply Company has responded to the national strategy for the development of new energy vehicles, striving to create a charging network to meet the growing demand for electric vehicle charging. To increase the charging accessibility at tourist attractions, the company is working in conjunction with the government to accelerate the construction of charging facilities. Batches of charging piles have been set up at major tourist attractions, highway service areas and other key locations, providing convenient charging services for electric vehicles. These charging piles are not only abundant in quantity but also distributed reasonably, ensuring that owners can find charging stations at any time during their journeys and enjoy a worry-free travel.

Shaoxing city is promoting the technological upgrade and intelligent management of charging facilities. By introducing advanced charging technology and intelligent management systems, real-time monitoring and remote control of charging piles have been achieved, which is effectively improving the operational efficiency and service quality of charging facilities. Vehicle owners can easily complete charging reservations, payments and settlements by using a mobile app or scanning the QR code on the charging pile, enjoying an intelligent charging service experience.

In the future, State Grid Shaoxing Power Supply Company said it will also provide on-site services to offer guidance and consultation for new energy vehicle owners on charging operations. They will answer various questions, help owners use charging piles smoothly, and provide an efficient and convenient charging experience. In the event of charging pile malfunctions or emergencies, the company is committed to responding promptly, initiating emergency measures immediately, and resolving issues timely to ensure worry-free charging for new energy vehicle owners.
