A group of international visitors toured the Shenglin Waxberry Orchard in the Hutang subdistrict of Keqiao district, Shaoxing, on June 15.

The visit was part of the 2025 Keqiao Hutang Waxberry Cultural Tourism and Common Prosperity Season.

China is among the few countries with abundant waxberry cultivation, and Hutang's local varieties — such as the crystal waxberry — are prized for their distinctive flavor and vibrant color.

More than 10 international students and professionals from Shaoxing University were invited to take part.

The guests, hailing from six countries, participated in a range of activities, including picking fresh waxberries, brewing traditional waxberry wine, sending waxberries to friends and family, and touring a yellow rice wine museum. They also learned about the cultivation, history, and cultural significance of both waxberries and Chinese yellow rice wine.
