An immersive water show fusing technology with poetic beauty will debut on Nov 13 in Shaoxing, East China's Zhejiang province, to celebrate the 900th anniversary of the birth of Southern Song patriotic poet Lu You.
Featuring a large-scale water performance that combines theater, dance, lighting, and drone light shows, the show will adopt an upgraded immersive format, in which the audience walks through the entire scenic area as the story unfolds, according to Wang Zhi'ou, the show's chief director.
The show's route will start near the Lu You Museum, pass by a water stage, and finally reach Lu's former residence. As visitors continue along the path, the poet's life unfolds through the four seasons.
The production team has integrated Lu's poetry and life story with cutting-edge visual technology. At the show's climax, the ancient poet's lifelong patriotic aspirations — his yearning for national reunification — are transformed into a dazzling celestial display, where over 9,000 poems illuminate the night sky as shimmering stars.
