Shaoxing hosted a matchmaking event focused on artificial intelligence on Oct 31.

Twelve demonstration projects were signed on-site, covering both traditional industry upgrading and cutting-edge research fields, marking a key step in the city's efforts to deepen the integration of AI with the real economy.

AI has been recognized as one of Shaoxing's strategic industries for future development. Yuecheng district is focusing on AI chips, AI-driven low-altitude economy, and intelligent software. Keqiao district is promoting AI applications in textile and dyeing, while Shangyu district is building an embodied intelligence robot cluster. Zhuji city is advancing its vision industry, and Shengzhou, Xinchang, and the Binhai New Area have each established unique AI-related development strategies based on their local strengths.

Zhuji's pearl industry, a long-standing sector in Shaoxing, has struggled to advance and utilize pearl powder effectively. One of the newly signed projects plans to build an AI-powered digital workshop for pearl powder production, using intelligent algorithms for precise process control and quality traceability.

Among the projects is a digital printing technology laboratory in the Binhai New Area which aims to develop a collaborative digital printing ecosystem by leveraging cloud computing, big data and smart manufacturing.

The signed projects are expected to create new application scenarios, business models, and industrial patterns within one to two years, setting replicable examples for intelligent transformation and providing strong momentum for Shaoxing's AI-powered economic growth.
