Shaoxing's Yuecheng district marked a milestone in low-altitude economic development in November with the completion of its first large-scale takeoff and landing site and the topping out of East China's first low-altitude complex.
Developing the low-altitude economy requires robust infrastructure. Yuecheng plans to build five large, 10 medium and 200 small takeoff and landing sites across the district within the next three years. This integrated network, designed for full coverage, multifunctionality and smart connectivity, will provide a strong foundation for future growth.
Core projects include the district's first large-scale takeoff and landing site designed for civil helicopters and a multi-purpose service center covering display, sales, maintenance, operations, testing and R&D. Total investment reaches 606 million yuan ($85.6 million), with a total building area of 34,200 square meters.
Next to the landing site, the low-altitude complex has topped out. The seven-story building with one underground floor will serve as the region's first low-altitude delivery hub, featuring flagship equipment stores, youth training centers and science education facilities. Multiple operational units have already moved in, creating a full-industry ecosystem for incubation, testing, certification and innovation.
The first seven large and medium takeoff and landing sites, including locations near Donghu Lake scenic area, the low-altitude complex, and Huangjiu Town, cover nearly all key functional zones in Yuecheng.
