Lishui counties make it to China's top 100 for tourism

Suichang county, Jinyun county and Lonquan county-level city – all under the jurisdiction of Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province – were recently included in the top 100 list of tourist counties in China, local media reported.

According to officials, the ranking was based on 35 indicators in six categories – the tourism economy development level, government's role in promoting tourism, the comprehensive drivers of the tourism industry, tourism development and environmental protection, tourism facilities and services, as well as tourism quality supervision and market regulations.

Local officials said that in recent years, Suichang county has been transforming its environmental and cultural resources into a tourist brand.

It has cultivated such things as rural leisure and sports and competitions, to greatly promote the integrated development of the tourism, culture, agriculture and sports industries.

Officials said that as the home of the first national 5A-level scenic spot in Lishui, Jinyun county has been vigorously promoting the establishment of rural scenic spots and developing its homestay, leisure and sports industries.

Longquan is known as the capital of celadon and sword, both of which are national intangible cultural heritages. In recent years, relying on its resource advantages, Longquan spares no efforts to further dig the develop potential in its tourism market, aiming to create an upgraded version of Lonquan tourism.
