Zhejiang is pursuing development out of the province and expanding opening-up to make its circle of friends ever larger. Zhejiang's total annual exports jumped from less than $100 million at the beginning of reform and opening-up to $432.5 billion, ranking third in China in scale. Ningbo-Zhoushan port has ranked first in the world for 10 consecutive years in terms of cargo throughput. A world-class green petrochemical base is being built in the Zhoushan Free Trade Zone, and the "Yiwu-Madrid" freight train is in normal operation, creating new legends along the Silk Road.
